Lumbar Radiculopathy (Sciatica)

As one of the leading back specialists in New Jersey our goal is to educate and care for out patients. This helps develop trust and an understanding relationship between doctor and patient. When properly informed about symptoms and causes of back pain, doctors can help patients prevent injury.

Lumbar Radiculopathy, also known as Sciatica, is a medical term used for a herniated (bulging, torn or slipped) disc. Injury can occur from long-term wear, direct blows or falls and even aging. Herniated discs from a tear, crack or bulging can place pressure on surrounding nerves, causing sever back pain.

The bones in your spine, known as vertebrae, are located from the neck to the bottom of your back. The discs act as a natural shock absorber between the vertebrae. When a disc is herniated it can cause a number of problems and pain for the individual.

For herniated disc treatment or to learn more about symptoms, consult with one of our back specialists.
