Myofascial Pain Syndrome is a condition caused by an injury or damage to the fascia. The fascia are the soft and stretchy connective tissue surrounding the muscles, organs and other structures in the human body. Chronic pain throughout the body, especially in the regions of the neck and jaw are a common result of Myofascial Pain Syndrome.

The primary cause of Myofascial Pain Syndrome is unknown to doctors and medical experts. Overworked and injured muscles, skeletal abnormalities and other disorders are all associated with potential triggers.
