Post Laminectomy Syndrome PDF Print E-mail

Post Laminectomy Syndrome (failed back syndrome) is a chronic pain that might develop after certain types of back surgery, typically following laminectomy. A laminectomy is a surgical procedure where one or more lamina (section of bone on the rear of the vertebra), is removed to relieve pressure. It's diagnosed as a "syndrome" when multiple symptoms are associated.

Common symptoms of post laminectomy syndrome include dull, aching back pain, pain radiating into the hips, buttocks and thighs, or sharp pain in the back and legs. Our team of specialists are some of the leaders in treating pain associated with the neck and back, and for pain management in NJ.

We feel it's necessary to educate our patients to the best of our ability to diagnose symptoms and to help prevent injury. Continue on to learn more information on Post Laminectomy Syndrome.
